SAK YANT : TRADITIONAL THAI TATTOO

The heart of Sak Yant : Yantra and Mantra, Yantra is a Sanskrit word desrived from the root 'yam' meaning to control or restrain, or from the root 'man' which can be translated as 'instrument of thought'. The Yantra, or Yant in Thai is a geometric design which serve as a physical support for the sacred sequences of syllables, the mantra. In Thailand these sequences are generally called Kata, In the Tantric tradition. the arc of wearing, drawing or concentrating on a Yantra is held to have spiritual or magical benefits. The mantras were conceived in the Vedas, the Hindu scriptures. The word 'mantra' in Sanskrit is etymologically linked to 'manas' which means the 'mind', and to 'trana' meaning 'for protection'
